Howloween Blog Hop!

Hi all. Thanks for stopping by my blog. The blog hop will be hopping from Friday the 26 through Monday the 29th, ending at midnight! So you have plenty of time to peruse all the great stops along the way and enter into as many contests as you can. You can always click on the Howloween Blog Hop graphic to your left to go back to the list of participating authors!

Contest: Leave a comment about your favorite Halloween costume and your name will be put in the hat for a chance to win a digital copy of the first book in my paranormal series – The Tiger Within or Last Chance or For The Bite Of It. Subscribe to my blog and your name will be entered twice! I will choose a winner after the hop is over.

Costume and Spirit stores have popped up like weeds. Bloated pumpkins float in the air, ghosts hover above store fronts and spiderwebs coat store windows a sticky white. The air has turned brisk, at least brisk for Arizona, and there’s a spice in the air. I love fall despite being in the desert where sweaters aren’t needed until January. My DH loves the season because he’s a pumpkin pie freak! I haven’t been to a costume party in ages but I used to love to dress up for Halloween. I have one costume in my closet – (just in case) – a turn of the 20th century black dress with a plume hat. Not very exciting but it IS black and tight fitting!

Now a days, I rather fantasize about what my characters would wear:

Fresh Bitten - michaelh

Vincent and Johan: Okay, my vampires are too easy. They wouldn’t have to dress up at all. Just a little blood dripping down their neck, some bare chest and fangs for their costumes.

Antoine: My beautiful white tiger shapeshifter would just need to transform into the beautiful creature he is!

Jack and John = both are somewhat reserved, Jack an uber-soldier and John a cop. It’d be hard to get them into any costume, but Antoine and Vincent would insist!concept___human_male_warrior_by_reaper78-d3gwibj I’d see them as warriors, with armor and swords readied for battle.

Then there’s my Kresnik vampire slayers – Corbin and Stu.  Also warriors but they rather travel light. Their weapons are daggers and dart guns and harnessing electricity. They are agile and need to move quickly! I see them going as ninjas for Halloween.

Have a fun Halloween and stay away from those lurking vampires in the dark!

I haven’t dressed up in years, but my brother still loves to. He always goes to a costume shop and rents some very elaborate costumes(viking, pirate…etc.) This year, my son, who happens to love classic rock music, is dressing up as Slash from Gun’s N Roses. He looks pretty cool. 🙂

Thanks for the giveaway! I would love to read For the Bite of It.

My favorite was dressing as a gypsy. Mom let me raid her jewelry box for earrings and necklaces and I got to borrow her scarves and a shawl (everything else was out of my closet). Not the most expensive/elaborate costume, but my favorite to put together.

Oh Dawn, that sounds positively scary! Love the fake brains! My costumes were pretty basic stuff when I was a kid, but once, in my twenties I went as a medieval lady in waiting – with the pointed hat and all. That was a blast. Pocahontas – love it. Did you have braids too, Judi?

  • Dawn Roberto says:

My favorite was when I was a mad scientist…made a cool lab coat, coated with blood bits, fake brain and my brother was my creation. *grins*

  • Yvette says:
