What is your:

Your guilty TV show? Monkey Business/Monkey Life. Seen most of the episodes half a dozen times and still adore it. Open All Hours would come a close second.

Your food addiction? In addition to the evening bowl of cereal, I need to have my morning one or I’m grumpy all day. And a couple of jelly babies after lunch. Which reminds me that I need to replenish supplies of those. We’re running dangerously low.

Your beauty addiction? I think I’ve gone past that, if I was ever into it at all. I do like good quality moisturizers, for both face and body. And classy scent. (Maybe I haven’t gone past that at all!)

Your go-to clothing for seduction? LOL I’ve been married nearly 32 years. My blue PJs with the Christmas cows on work just fine.

Hidden in the closet? Some of my dad’s war souvenirs. (Don’t panic! There’s not a Mauser or anything…)

What is:

Your guilty indulgence?

SHIRA: Yaoi anime and manga!  For those of you not familiar with yaoi, it’s Japanese anime and manga written mostly for women about gay men.  Most of it is entirely unrealistic, but there are a few series that are wonderful (adorable and/or sexy) and worth reading/watching.  My personal favorite, Ayano Yamane’s high fantasy series, “The Crimson Spell,” about a prince who is trying to break a spell that turns him into a demon at times.  The go-to guy?  A very hot sorcerer.

EM: I’m addicted to cookbooks. I probably have 300 of them. I love reading them, even if I don’t end up cooking anything from the book. Of course it means when I do cook I can’t decide what to make! I especially enjoy those from exotic cuisines, and from places I’ve visited around the world. It’s probably not a surprise to any of my readers. I always have scenes with food in them, even before I started the Delectable series!

Your guilty TV pleasure?

SHIRA: I have to be honest here and say that I almost never watch TV anymore!  But my last guilty pleasure was re-watching the remake of “Battlestar Galactica” with my 16 year old son.  It’s so cool when you realize your geek genes haven’t skipped a generation!

EM: I don’t have much time for TV but Netflix Instant Watch gives me too much access to whole seasons of shows. I was home sick for a few weeks during the spring and I got hooked on Pretty Little Liars. It’s so over the top and no high-school girls dress like that—except maybe on Gossip Girl—but it’s such fun and now I can’t wait till the next season starts….

SHIRA: I’ll eat just about anything—the more exotic the better.  My addiction, though?  Sushi.  I think I could eat just sushi for every meal of every day and never get tired of it.

EM: I go through phases. Right now one of my favorite things is Greek yogurt. I’ll also try just about anything that has coconut or watermelon in it. I even have watermelon vodka and of course, coconut rum! I’ve never tried mixing them.

Your go-to piece of clothing for seduction?

SHIRA: I have this amazing shirt I ordered from the Pyramid Collection that buttons at the bust, but not below (reveals a little tummy).  It laces up the sides and the sleeves.  I wear it for a night out on the town, and I’ve also worn it to conventions like GayRomLit and Yaoicon.

EM: I have these wonderful black high-heeled boots that lace up. I only wear them at home since they aren’t very comfortable to walk in!

Your beauty addiction?

EM: Like one of my characters, Trent Copeland, I love body wash. I hadn’t realized how much until I wrote him and realized that aspect of his personality was actually me! I also adore scented lotions. Nowadays some offices don’t allow scented beauty items, so I don’t get to wear them all the time.

SHIRA: I’m addicted to anything scented for the bath/shower — soap, shampoo, body wash — you name it!  My favorite scent?  Patchouli.  Adore it.

Hidden in the closet?

SHIRA: I have this really cool hat I bought when I used to sing opera.  It cost a fortune and I found it at a department store in Cologne, Germany.  I wore it everywhere when I traveled and did auditions in Europe.  Now it sits unused in a purple hat box and nobody knows what’s inside.  I really need to take that hat out and wear it again….

EM: I have a gorgeous Japanese wedding kimono I got when I lived in Japan. It’s white silk brocade and the most beautiful thing I own. I wore it once for Halloween but it has a long train and it’s not very practical. In a Japanese wedding the bride pretty much just stands on a stage and then poses for photos, so it doesn’t have to be easy to walk in.

They’d broken into the community pool at midnight, drunk on a bottle of sweet kosher wine Josh had stolen from his parents’ restaurant. They hadn’t planned on the break-in, and once they’d climbed over the fence, they didn’t know how to celebrate their daring feat.

“Jump off the high dive!” Josh had suggested. Micah was strong swimmer and a good diver.

“No. You jump.”

“I suck at diving. No way I’ll go off the top one.”

“I’ll do it if you do.”

“Okay.” That sounded good to Josh. Everything seemed easier with Micah at his side.

They headed for the iron ladder to the top level before Micah stopped dead in his tracks. “Shit. No swimsuits.” Micah started laughing uncontrollably at this point. He couldn’t hold his Manischewitz the way Josh could.

“Who needs ’em?” Josh slipped out of his shirt and pants before his brain caught up. He stood there in his white briefs, waiting. When Micah shimmied out of his own clothes, Josh thought he’d died and gone to heaven. He tried not to stare at his friend’s near-naked body, illuminated by the strong light of the full moon. They’d changed in front of each other for years, in locker rooms, but it was the first time he’d been alone, kind of tipsy, and this close to a much more manly, grown-up Micah. Josh’s pulse raced.

I have go-to books when I want to read a romance that’s going to leave me feeling good. Sean Michael – The Broken Road and recently I picked up Faith and Fidelity by Tere Michaels.

I have twelve m/m books published and I’m working on lucky 13!

I’m currently writing book three of my Chances vampire series published with Loose Id. It’s about vampires and the Kresnik slayers who hunt them. And, about an anti-vampire serum that can drastically alter their world. Last Chance and Fighting Chance are the first two books in the series with Loose Id.

My other vampire series with Vincent, the vampire cup-cake baker and his lover, John is in the works. This is co-written and so we’ve been having timing issues with new jobs and life getting in the way. But, the second story has been completed and we are in the editing stages. For The Bite Of It is published by Liquid Silver, and is the first book in this new series.

Sins of Lust is my first book with Ellora’s Cave – and is about angels and the Protectors that kill for them. It has hot sex and some mystery and a deep layered heavenly world that has nothing to do with reality! It’s my fantasy world of heaven and hell and in-between.

If you don’t like para/fantasy stories then I have some contemporary books and novellas. My Woodland Village series is a favorite among my readers – Blue Skye the first book in the series. In Lover’s Trill, a rock star tries to find love with a classical violinist despite their different musical worlds. Perceived Love is about finally ever after- a psychic butting heads with a stubborn scientist, especially when he dreams that the scientist is going to die.
